logo pso This Saturday night - March 20 - I host another live Pacific Symphony broadcast on KUSC. It's a jazz-influenced program of Bernstein, Ellington, Gershwin and more. Carl St. Clair conducts. During intermission I'll be speaking with both Carl and with guest soloist in the Gershwin Concerto in F, Alain Lefevre.

This coming Sunday, March 21st at Paul Revere Middle School, the Brentwood Westwood Symphony Orchestra is presenting a free concert of music by Bach, Mozart, Dvorak and Schubert. This year marks the 57th season for founding director Alvin Mills (a run that I believe qualifies as the longest in history!). I'll be on hand as the master of ceremonies for this historic free concert. Info is available at 661-248-3885

Cardiff Studios is pleased to welcome our newest client - the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. We've just started voicing and producing radio spots for the orchestra, beginning with sixty-second radio for their Friday morning Coffee Concerts. We look forward to working with the St. Louis Symphony in the coming months and years.

KUSC-FM's fundraiser ran February 5th through the 12th. As always, your support of Los Angeles' last standing classical station was appreciated. Last report I heard wasjust over 10,400 pledges and around $1.123 million dollars raised. Wow. Thanks so much. And now we're free from pledge drives for a few months (it'll only seem like weeks when the next one begins).

The Grammys asked me to host this year's Salute to Classical Music at the Broad Stage in Santa Monica, California. The event took place during the last week of January. The honoree this year was tenor Placido Domingo. It was better than I'd even hoped. My report on the event is now up at KUSC's blog page. You can also see the blog here.
